Chosen to Achieve

Chosen to Achieve was founded by Anna M. Young. We are dedicated to working with schools, districts, and policy makers to improve schools, curricula, educational programs, and community alliances to directly impact the education achievement gap so that all children thrive.

We strive to create programs, processes, and alliances that directly break down the education achievement gap and increase cultural competence. Communities and educational institutions will be able to collaborate to draw up new solutions to cultural issues.

We partner with organizations and use data to find culturally relevant solutions to educational equity issues that help young people see beyond the stereotypes that keep them from reaching their potential.

With over 20 years of experience Chosen to Achieve can help foster healthy relationships between educational institutions and the students, families and communities they serve.

President and Owner

Anna is a catalyst for advancing the achievement and graduation rates of all young people from kindergarten through higher education.

Her work has also included the grassroots level as a community liaison, community engagement specialist, and parent facilitator that served families and communities. A crowning achievement at this level was to develop two highly successful mentoring programs serving multiple cultures which brought together community partners and volunteers. The evidence from program evaluations showed a positive impact on the academic achievement of the middle school youth served.

Anna has held teaching positions at various institutions, eight years as a religious educator for high school students, four years as a classroom trainer for the United States Air Force, and most recently as an instructor of graduate students at local colleges on culturally responsive teaching.

Anna will receive her Doctorate of Education from Bethel University in December 2020. She received her Mastors of Education from St. Mary's University.
